As a lifelong resident of Laramie County, I have seen my share of Frontier Days parades. However, until I participated in them, I had yet to learn about their impact on visitors from around the world and the local community. What a difference in perspective from watching the yearly event to riding the float and seeing the ear-to-ear smiles on the children and adults. Whether participating as a representative of the Sheriff’s Office dressed as the loveable McGruff, the crime-fighting dog, driving the float, or standing with pride in my class A uniform representing the agency I loved, these experiences have left an indelible mark on my heart. I will forever hold a special place for these memories.
