Walk in Her Shoes is an event put on by Safehouse Services where men walk in women's shoes to raise awareness on the issues of rape, sexual assault, and violence toward women.
During my 27-year career with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office, I responded to more of these domestic incidents than I care to count, each having a profound impact on me.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to participate in this event and proudly walked around the Depot Plaza in a pair of size-13 heels. Safe House is a not-for-profit organization that operates a shelter and facilitates support groups, advocacy programs, and numerous other services. Please consider supporting this worthy organization.
